What We Have To Offer
Hover over the pictures below to see details of the different elements of our farm.

Goats
Made up of high-quality, purebred Alpine goats, our goat herd is kept for dairy, weed-control, and sales. Selected for their correctness in conformation and temperament, and for their production and ease of management, these goats are great animals who produce great milk.
Alpine goat milk is one of the creamier goat milks, it is excellent for drinking, making into cheeses or yogurt, or using for soap or other uses.

Poultry
Our flock is made up of purebred heritage Delaware chickens. A mostly white breed with black edging, they are known as an excellent dual-purpose breed, being consistent layers of medium to large brown eggs and reasonably fast to mature to a good processing weight. In addition to this, their temperament makes them well-suited to free-ranging.

Horses - Coming Soon!
Though not farm animals in the same way as the others, horses are special creatures that are beneficial for people in so many ways.
Our primary focus will be training and sales, seeking to transform untrained or damaged horses into useful and pleasant partners.
We will additionally provide limited lessons, and may also have other services as time goes by. Click below to see what services are available.

Hay
The health and quality of our fields directly effect the health and quality of all of our other ventures, so we take it very seriously. With the goal of improving our fields with regenerative methods, we manage them with minimal fertilizers and herbicides, and no invasive methods. We'd prefer to put in extra time and labor than destroy the eco-systems present. Our end goals are healthy, thriving fields, and excellent, horse-quality hay.
While our hay production is primarily focused on feeding our own animals, excess hay is available to the public. Click below to find out more about current or anticipated availability.

Garden
Gardening is one of the oldest of human endeavors. Our garden is more than a source of food. Filled with foods that nourish the body and please the pallet, designed visually to please the eye, our garden is intended to feed the soul as well as the body. While it's absolutely still a work in progress, we have big plans for its future.
Designed to be sustainable amid the workloads of the rest of the farm, our garden currently offers little beyond what we use at home. Click below, however, to learn more about what things may be available!
About us

Mended Oaks Farm has been an idea in progress for us, Sean and Rebekah Salés, for decades. We wanted to bring Rebekah's love for horses together with the needs of the people around us, to give help to people and glory to God.
Our theme verse is Isaiah 61:1-4 which speaks of how God will restore His people to wholeness and make them "oaks of righteousness". Everything about the farm is focused on reconciliation and restoration.
While horses are the foundation and focus, we have learned that good management of the land requires support. We learned to make hay, then added goats and chickens to begin rounding out our mini-ecosystem. We will likely add additional species and enterprises in the future.
But all of these things truly exist for the people they serve. Whether they provide food, exercise, physical or emotional growth, a soul-soothing view, or a soft neck to hug, the landscapes, animals, programs, and products of Mended Oaks Farm are leveraged to care for people.
